Why People Don’t Get Restored

1. Unconfessed Sin - Acts 3:19

- When we do not confess our sins, God is not going to do what he said he would do

- Sins are hindrances and we need to confess those things

2. Holding onto Past Hurts

- Will cause wounds to spread and grow

- Hinders the healing and the process of restoration in our lives

3. Doubting God’s Ability or Willingness - James 1:6-7

- Doubt will cause you to limit God’s ability in your life

4. Fear of Disappointment

- People often fear the possibility of things not going their way

- This fear begins to consume them and taint their perceptions and actions

5. Impatience with God’s Timing- Isaiah 40:31

- God’s timing is perfect

- Rushing God indicates an inability to submit and fully trust God’s plan for restoration

6. Misunderstanding the Process

- When people misunderstand, they often mishandle God’s word for their lives
